Crafters March 2014

Hello Clever Crafters,

The 40 of us that met today had a lot of fun. A big THANK YOU to Tony the Barista and Irene the Waitress – who is so much MORE than that! Great effort Tony and Irene, hugely appreciated.┬áThe money pot is starting to build so Judbury Crafters have decided to contribute towards clear blinds for the hall, which will mean we can use the verandah and enjoy the view of the Huon river in ALL weathers.

There certainly was a LOT going on this month; Felt balls, Carpet backing advice, New spinning wheels, Leaf looms, Modelling garments, Movietime; 4-shaft loom problem solving; Core spinning; Visitors from the Deep South and from Overseas – and that wasn’t the whole of it. Some folk still hide their light under a bushel. (What IS that saying about? Please explain!)

Great felt wonders Rory, good on you for having a go. Anyone else got felt ball photos to send to me?

Shirley showed a DVD of the West Coast Wilderness Fibre Arts weekend in Tullah and has them for sale, get in touch with her if you want one. It was a brilliant weekend and may encourage you to think of attending the next one in 2016. Thanks also, Shirley, for conducting the Show and Tell with your elegant GONG – a frypan and spoon! If nothing else we are resourceful folk.

Cathy talked about the Leaf Project, see this blog for more information. Shirley reminded us about the Ross Woolfest, see the Guild Calendar 30 March entry for more information, and the Calendar also highlights other activities which may interest you – Campbell Town show, Bream Creek Show, Alpaca Fiesta, Freeform crochet & knitting workshop and more.
