What a great day to meet in a warm and cosy hall on the banks of the fabulous Huon river. Big thanks to Brandon for being our Barista today and big thanks to Michelle for organising those brilliant sausage rolls, curried sausages and other goodies.
Brian raffled a Nichols meat tray which was won by Janet! Again! She has the luck of the Irish.
Buttons were on show, Cathy showed us what they played with at a Buttons workshop in the Guild last week. If you are a Handweavers, Spinners and Dyers Guild of Tasmania member some great workshops happen from time to time. Lyndel had a brilliant bag crafted from Shopping Bags – hmm – do I see a little workshop in the air??? Alanna had her unique own-design felted hat on display, it was fabulous. We predict great things for the future. Vicki modelled her finished Intarsia knitted piece-de-resistance and it was amazing. Sue had her hand-knitted alpaca/silk yarn vest and some simply stunning crochet rugs – great work in colour and design and detail. There was such a lot more, you had to be there to see the variety of crafts we collectively create!
What shall we do next month? I see we actually meet on the Queen’s Birthday, (according to my calendar). So, let’s make it a Right Royal Occasion! Go mad, do what you like – Purple, Tiara’s, Crowns, Kings, Queens, Charlottes and more – we give you the Right Royal Seal of Approval to have some fun on what is surely to be a cold but happy winter’s day.
