What a day we had when members of The Canton of Lightwood and The Barony of Ynys Fawr visited to tell us about their organisation and share with us some of the fabulous craft that occurs within their activities and membership. Both can be found on Facebook. Dressed in their personas; Liz, Nicole and Jan were very generous with their time, and explained many of their items of clothing, archery, carving, jewellery and more. Covering the medieval period of 600AD thru to 1600AD, and several different cultural streams within that period, it was quite enlightening. Thank you to Tully Lampasona who first suggested this visit, great idea! (We LOVE the tunic your Mum made)

As usual we had the general mayhem of a Crafter Day, with the Buy or Barter table, the Meat Raffle, and the Show and Tell table. Valeri cooked up a Pot Luck root vegetable soup, Michelle baked off some rustic scones and others brought along great food to share. For example, we had “medieval” marshmallows, “byzantine” beetroot cake, “rustic” rye &¬†fennel bread and “medieval” danish cakes. To top it off we had the Barista Baron plying us with well crafted coffees.

Jess and others got busy repairing a Carder so that Michelle could continue her felting adventures, thank you Jess and Shirley and Judy and others, job well done. Big shout out to Maree of Mareniko Bunnies who took out many accolades at a recent show, including the top gong, Best In Show! Tony conducted the Meat Tray Raffle, won by Leslie, and Shirley got us into gear for Show and Tell. Many stayed on to put away tables, wash crockery and help close down the hall. Great job everyone, THANK YOU. Enjoy the photos, let me know if I got something wrong. Feel free to send me pics if you have some you want to see up here.
