Crafters November 2016

20161114buttonpicWhat a fabulous day in Judbury it turned out to be, good company, lots of laughs, new things to learn and skills to share. Pauline took the biscuit tho’, with her brooches created from dried up old Red Onions and Celery Strings!!!!! When I find things long forgotten in the back of the refrigerator, I throw them out, but not Pauline, as with everything, she wonders what else it could be.

Nikki told us about holding organza over a candle to ‘crinkle it up’, – not many of us think to hold beautiful fabrics up close to a naked flame – but the result is gorgeous looking flowers adorning her lavender bags; and Lesley G could be seen getting rough and ready with gorgeous coloured tops destined to become a felted clutch bag.

Congratulations to all the Ribbon and Certificate winners at the recent Huon Agricultural Show, there were many Judbury Crafters in the mix. Special mention to Helen Dowd who was Best Overall Exhibit in the Handcraft, Shirley Tongs for Equal Best Crochet, and Lyndel Churchill who was Equal Best Knitwear along with Shirley. And Shirley also had Best Pink Rose.

This December the gathering will be a Xmas Market Day – bring along your wares, set up a small table and wow us with your talents. Perfect timing for us to find that gift for Aunt Mabel, or the grandchildren. Bring a plate to share and we will set out lunch immediately after Show’n’Tell.

Name tags – there have been multiple request this year for folk to wear a  name tag, and Elizabeth dB has offered a prize for the best name tag, to be awarded at the December meeting. So get busy, and please wear a name tag at meetings.

Enjoy they pics, and email me if anything is wrong, (or right)….   🙂
