Crafters December 2016 – Merry Xmas

craftertagCrafters excelled themselves with generosity of SPIRIT and FOOD and DESTASH this month. What a great lunch we were able to share – great work everyone. I know several folk were after recipes, if you forward to me I shall pop them up here. Irene bought along some roses, pink, with the most heavenly perfume, hoping to learn the name of that rose.

Destash had some lovely yarns and fabric and books – manna from heaven for weavers and fibre fanatics. Buy or Barter was a mixture of books, oak tree seedlings, turned wooden articles, alpaca yarn and fibre, mixed plants, lavender bags, paintings of Tasmanian birds, cowls and scarves, dye and dye pot, tapestry pieces – amazing. And the Show and Tell table always AMAZES – such a variety of work, photos don’t do it justice.

Such a gorgeous day, the verandah was the perfect place for the Dyers to do their thing, and others to spin and craft in the sunshine overlooking the river. We in Judbury are blessed to have such a great hall. Thank you to the Judbury Progress Assn members who each month help put out the tables after the market the day before, it makes the Monday set-up easy.

Thank you Elizabeth d B for organising the Name Tag competition, what a great idea. It certainly prompted a variety of wonderful tags, let’s hope we can now remember to WEAR them each month. It was great to have our Barista Team of Irene and Tony back with us for the day, brilliant work guys. And to all the folk who turned up early to help set up, and who stayed on and helped clean up, job well done. It is true, many hands make light work.

There have been some trials and tribulations this year with sickness, traumas and worries, let’s hope 2016 will see them out of the way and bring you all good fortune and health in 2017.

Merry Xmas to you all, slow down over the ‘season’ and come back in January refreshed and full of new ideas for the New Year. And, thank you for the good wishes today.
